Once Upon a Dream Series

‘‘In-Flux: Once Upon a Dream’’ is a surreal storytelling series consisting of a triptych acrylic painting.

 

The story of this series is based on my life and childhood experiences.

Each figure in these paintings symbolizes different hardships the main character goes through; as the story progresses, the viewer witnesses their overcoming through the other frames. Dark figures and traumas, all disguised behind a childlike surreal style, are to add a protective layer allowing the viewer to dig deeper into the hidden elements of the work. 

 

10 intentional frames of unintentional pallets and a clay figure sculpture are extensions of the paintings.
